Meet the sauna and steam enthusiasts

The Company
We are TylöHelo, the world’s leading sauna and steam manufacturer. What we do and the wellness experiences we create set us apart. The built in sense of pride and genuine feel that signifies our sauna and steam products can’t be replicated.
In the fall of 2017 our team became both bigger and stronger by merging Tylö and Helo into TylöHelo to form one of the world’s strongest wellness providers.

We look forward to continue to provide the market with  superior products and stronger customer service. So that our mutual customers can live well, and we can feel proud.

Our history
After being two separate companies for a very long time, Tylö of Sweden and Helo of Finland now form TyloHelo. But these are our stories about how we ended up where we are today:

Tylö
The fact that Tylö is what it is today can be traced back to the values of its founders – innovative ideas, determination and visions.

Tylö's founder, Sven-Olof Janson, was an electrician whose ingenuity and motivation enabled him to develop smaller and more efficient heaters for proprietary designed machines. In 1951, he accepted a challenge from a local businessman to build a cheaper but better sauna. Mr Janson was obviously successful in his feat. Ever since that challenge in 1951, the company, which soon was named Tylö, has remained in its initial location where it has grown over the years. The portfolio has grown with it and is now a complete range of state of the art wellness products based on tradition and heritage, but is continuously adapted to follow the demands of its customers.

Helo
Helo was established in 1919 as Karjalan Sahko Ltd in Vyborg, Finland and the compsny’s first electric sauna heater was introduced in 1949.

Since the 1960’s the company was renamed Helo Tehtaat (Helo Factories) and has been in its current location in Hanko, Finland ever since.

After being dubbed Oy Saunatec Ltd in 1990, the company soon acquired the world’s largest sauna room manufacturer, Knüllwald Sauna GmbH in Germany, and two new subsidiaries were founded, Saunatec Inc. in the United States and Helo (UK) Ltd. in Great Britain. Towards the end of 1990s, Oy Saunatec Ltd acquired the sauna and steam bath business of Amerec (Nasscor Inc.) in Seattle, US, and a Finnish sauna heater producer, Viki Sauna Oy. In 2008, sales and marketing operations were set up in Russia.
